PaintingsIn 1965 I started studying Architecture, on the advice of my father, at Texas Tech University. By the time I was a junior, in 1968 I made the decision to switch to an Art Major and majored in Painting. These are from a series that I did during those years. They were inspired and influenced by my exposure to Nicholas DeStael, Wesley Rusnell, and the Bay area figurative folks at the time. By the time I was a senior in Art I had decided to switch to Ceramics for graduate School. | "Caroline #1" 1968; Oil Paint on Canvas; 64"H x 52"W; private collection | "Caroline #22" 1969; Acrylic on Canvas; 62"H x 58"W; private collection | "Caroline #44" 1968; Oil Paint on Canvas; 24"H x 36"W; private collection | "Caroline #50" 1968; Acrylic on Canvas; 68"H x 52"W; private collection | "Caroline #51" 1968; Acrylic on Canvas; 64"H x 72"W; private collection | "Caroline #53" 1969; Oil Paint on Canvas; 46"H x 36"W; private collection | "Caroline #56" 1969; Acrylic on Canvas; 72"H x 52"W; private collection |
