The “studio” I have in Hawaii is actually just an extra bedroom in our home so the scale of the work is modest. They are small scale mixed media drawings/wall collages. They are drawings mounted on wood incorporating $1 Bills, Electric cords, painted/wound string “balls”, painted wood, etc. They reference ancient Hawaiian “petroglyths”. These were etched in the lava rock by ancient Hawaiians and are still visible today. There are also a contemporary references to Hawaii, as a state in the United States today, with a two piece suit and “George Washington $1 bills.
